This isn't a preview per se of this weekend's series against Alabama-Huntsville. It isn't that UAH doesn't deserve a preview. Instead, the reason is purely on me. I had surgery on Tuesday. It wasn't on my fingers or brain which really are the only things necessary to write a preview. I wasn't even going to do this much but it's pretty easy.
KRACH is the alternative method for calculating rankings of college hockey teams. It categorically is not valid until after the mid-point of the season when enough games have been played to make it valid. But, I stumbled across this and well ...
When you do the invalid calculations as of today: UAA is ranked #1 in the country and UAH is ranked #59. So the Seawolves are going to have a huge target on their backs to defend this ranking. No doubt UAH has this invalid ranking system posted all over their locker room as motivation to beat our guys.
Hey, we didn't ask for this #1 ranking and I"m kinda mad at math for making it so. Math can be both ugly and beautiful. So our boys better be prepared to defend this ranking by taking the ice at the Von Braun Center and owning it like KRACH predicts they will. Seawolf honor is on the line here.
