The Holiday Break Is Finally Over

Friday night is the 4th of 5 total games the Seawolves will face the Colorado College Black Bears this season.  CC has a 2-1 record coming into the series and sits exactly 4 points above the Seawolves in the standings.  UAA has 10 points and is tied with Mankato for 8th while CC is one of three teams with 14 points tied for 5th.  So this weekend is kinda of a big deal points-wise for the Seawolves.

Sunday Potpourri: Burgers, Dogs, Yucks and The BTHC

In terms of social interaction with a medium sized group of people (i.e... today's Meet-n-Greet event/picnic) people love seeing a sense of humor.  Today's funny guys?  Daniel Naslund and Jade Portwood.   Each player on the team took the microphone and introduced themselves; you know .... name, number, birthplace, major, how and why they came to UAA.  I must of course paraphrase but it went something like this.

Regg Simon Departs and Some Other Stuff

I guess it's as good a time as any to make another summer post.  The only real news is (as you're probably already aware) that today Regg Simon has taken the head coaching spot at Des Moines in the USHL. A job which was recently vacated by Mike Guentzel who is off to Omaha to feed on Dean Blais' hind-teat while Dean awaits the demise of Don Lucia as his ticket out of Nebraska.

Best of luck to Regg.  Returning to the Jr. A head coaching ranks is probably a good career move for him.  If he can build success there over a few years then he could start to be considered for next level head coaching jobs at some point.
