Alabama Bound? Speaking of "bound"; I've seen more movements from a constipated dog than I saw from the Seawolves tonight down in 'Bama. That was just awful. Thank god for the UAH play-by-play guy giving us lots to laugh about or we'd have had zero joy.
This year's Seawolves can pretty much kiss hopes for a home-ice series goodbye after tonight. That may seem a bit early to predict (cos math says they have a chance still) but the 2014-15 edition of the Seawolves have shown that they really don't have what it takes to compete. Don't misunderstand, they're a reasonably talented group. They could have and should have won more games already based on the overall skills. But they have not.
It's difficult to say why. There were locker room issues back in November; is there some lingering cancerous crap going on amongst the team? I don't know and suppose I shouldn't speculate about such things. But I'm trying to find some reason for the crappy play.
I would fully expect that the guys will regroup and put together a W tomorrow night. If I'm back here writing about another crappy effort tomorrow I'll be honestly surprised.
Congrats to the Chargers anyway. They wanted a win and they put forth the necessary effort. As Seawolves fans, the past has acclimated us to being the team that filled the "will" role in the saying that "Will Can Defeat Skill". This isn't the first time this season that we've been on the wrong end of that equation.
Essentially, tonight cost me 30 dollars in pay that I would have received had I stayed at work versus taking the time off to go watch the game. It's not 30 bucks I'll give up tomorrow night. I'll just be staying at work and listening on the radio. The "cost/benefit risk analysis" just isn't there for me; I'd happily give up the minor amount of extra pay I'd get if I could know that my guys would be playing like a team and putting out the necessary effort for a win. But I can't be sure, so I'll decide in favor of making money versus not making money.
Get it together Seawolves. You guys are better than you've been showing.
