Kendall Classic: Free Tickets For Kids

The Kendall Classic tournament is a bit over a fortnight away but it's a good time to point out the above deal so you can let your friends know about it that might otherwise be unaware.  There's not a lot here for me to describe.  You pay regular admission and bring two kids: they get in free.  Pretty straightforward deal.

Just think of all the "ooohs and ahhhs" your children will exclaim when they see the first future NCHC (lol .. still a stupidly awkward name for a league) team to come to the Sully this year.  They'll be truly amazed at this "elite" program/university (yawn) ... that finished behind UAA in the standings last season.  Um ... or they won't notice at all as they cheer the team onto (as Lyle Woods says) "another Seawolf victory".  That'll be after they beat Clarkson of course.

After the 2012-13 season, I wonder if UAA will ever travel to SCSU of the NCHC to play them at the NHC?

Bobbleheads and Special Deals Galore

I've got three important things to notify you regarding upcoming Seawolves games.  Click on any of the pics to the left to see full sized versions. First is a newly announced ticket package.

As the flyer shows ... for just $49 you can get 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs and 4 sodas for on any of the remaining home game nights versus Michigan Tech, UNO and the Governor's Cup game versus UAF.

That's a pretty nice deal compared to what it costs at other WCHA venues to watch a game

If you are one of the first 1,000 folks through the Sullivan Arena doors this Friday night (February 4th, 2011) for the game against Michigan Tech you will be handed perhaps the most anticipated Seawolf promotional item of the year; the Seawolf Bobblehead.

I know there are collectors out there for this sort of memorabilia, so if you're one of those or know one of those types then you should make sure you get there early enough to snag one of these bad boys.

For fans interested in flying to Squarebanks to watch the Seawolves thrash the global warming endangered white bears; you can now go to the Alaska Airlines website and get 20% off your tickets.

To receive the discount you must enter promotional code EC7406.

I don't know what the regular price is and what 20% off that exactly would be but hey, if you were planning on going then it'd be silly not to take advantage of this fine offer.

UAA Athletics Gives Xmas Present To Anchorage

I'm pretty sure the image says it all doesn't it?  Tell your friends, neighbors, co-workers, cashiers, doctors, lawyers, bakers, butchers, teachers, car mechanics, motorcycle mechanics, snow machine mechanics, janitors, carpenters, bartenders, pot dealers, hookers and even favorite politicians that UAA will give them 8 tickets to watch 2 hockey games between UAA and DU this weekend.

This looks like the place to start on ticketmaster.  As the flyer indicates there is a $3.50 handling fee.  That is per transaction.  Not per ticket.

Seawolves Weekend Halloween Promotions

So I meant to come back yesterday and go back through the weekend with some analysis.  It would have been mostly about being 1-4-1 after six games when we've seen pretty solid starts over the last few years (09/10 -- 3-3-0 .... 08/09 -- 4-1-1 ... 07/08 -- 3-1-2).  I would have talked about how close 5 of the 6 games have been and how the teams we've played were mostly all ranked fairly high.

There are several promotions and special events for this weekend:

So there you have it.  The salient facts you need to know in order to maximize your enjoyment this weekend.  There are obviously good ways to get discounts on tickets if you don't have them already.  So grab some friends and turn up on Friday.  I'm not talking about 1 or 2 friends.  Grab 4 or 5 or 6.  Let's come close to filling the joint up a'ight?  Seriously, if there was a game that should or could be close to a sellout this season then Friday is it.  You know that local 'Nooks fans will be there in force and they're bringing a busload down from the Craphole-On-A-River.

Green&Gold Fridays, Jersey Saturdays: Free Tickets

Don't forget that this weekend (and every home weekend) that UAA is running two ticket promotions that make simple and easy to get your kids into the games for free.  On Friday nights, you just have to wear Green & Gold and you can receive up to two free general admission tickets for kids 12 and under.  On Saturday nights, you wear a hockey jersey and again you can receive up to two free general admission tickets for kids 12 and under.

It's simple.  You go to the northwest ticket office and head to the student desk up to one hour before gametime.  Show them your "Green & Gold" on Friday night or your "Jersey" on Saturday night, buy one adult ticket and they'll give you tickets for the two kids you brought with you.

I've pinned the flyers for each of these promotions in the right hand column.  Tell your friends.  Take the neighbors kids if you don't have any of your own.  Babysitting on Friday or Saturday night?  What better way to let the little ones burn off some energy.  I promise you that when you get them home after the game that they'll crash out big time.

I can't think of any entertainment option in town that would be anywhere near as inexpensive as this.  Take advantage of it.  UAA Athletics and all it's great volunteers make the hockey games a very family friendly and fun event.  Don't miss out!

Want some free tickets to any regular season Seawolves hockey game at the Sullivan? All you have to do is follow some simple clothing rules.

On Friday nights, wear Green & Gold to the game and get up to two complimentary general admission tickets for kids 12 & under.

On Saturday nights, wear a hockey jersey and get up to two complimentary general admission tickets for kids 12 & under.

Both promotions can only be nabbed by going to the student desk inside the NW entrance of the arena. That's the door with the geometric sculpture "thingy". Click the flyers for larger versions:
