Incomprehensible. That is all.

Un-freaking-believable.

Puck in goalies hands, slashed out, puck goes in net, no call. I love the WCHA.

SSDY

Yup, SSDY. It's getting old. The fan base has already been diluted to half what it was, this is not the way to win over fans.

Good job to the boys that did play their hearts out. Tomorrow night all of them have to. Coaching decisions at the end of the 3rd did not help things out.
GO SEAWOLVES!!!! !

Welcome to the annual second half of the season slump and collapse. *sigh*

Wow....I couldnt make tonight's game and am enjoying UAA's 3 goal lead while watching the game on GCI channel 1. I decided to take a quick look at the blog. Tell me it isn't so...3-3?? WTF happened ????

Hey Coach, good call going with the "same-ole, same-ole" after last weeks stinker... No, really, good call..

Free Selby...

Ken Selby finished 6th in goal scoring in his final year of juniors in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League exactly one goal behind Kevin Clark who finished in 5th for goals scored that year.

Free Selby ...

UAA skaters go easy on yourself. Hockey is a game of strange bounces. Just believe in yourself. You have the skills. This season will be a winning season. Believe it, and you shall receive it. Go Seawolves!!!

Ugh! I've got so many questions. How many times must we see most of our shots hitting the glass and not the twine?! I give the boys credit for outshooting Michigan Tech. But damn, maybe the boys need some new sticks or someone to teach them how to take a shot! Do we even have a goalie coach? Because this goalie situation needs to be addressed. How many years until we get one solid goaltender? At least we got a point. But it doesn't seem these guys want it enough to give it their best. We've got some talented guys, but where are their hearts? I'm so frustrated. I'm sorry if I'm being too critical, but losing a 3 goal lead is just plain ridiculious! Come on Wolves where's your pride? And to the fans...get off your sofa and come and support these guys! I would think if we could put 6000 fans in the stands these guys would have some more inspiration. Boo! to the Student Activities at UAA, and to the blueliners for not putting fans in the seats! How cheap are you to not give some sort of free pizza night to the student section? Something. You're pathetic for not selling this team. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day. GO SEAWOLVES!!!

Would I love to be a fly on the wall and listen in to what the team had to say after the game! This one had to hurt! They had it! Then our bad luck kicked in. Why can't we get break? Not only to our boys need to get it together but so do the fans. The numbers are not looking good. Is there a way to get a letter out to Student Activities and say "Hey what's up?! Get our student section back!" And do we have a band we could bring in? Because whoever is doing the sound system is putting out some crappy music choices! What happened to that electronic techno like drum beat opening? Where's the spotlight crew? Get this house jumping again and maybe, just maybe it'll light an extra spark in this team!

Free Selby!
Give Sidor a shot in net!
Just freaking put pucks in their net and don't let them in our net!

I want to know whatever did happen to the student section. When I lived on campus from '01 to '04 the student section was always FULL! That place is dead these days! WTF is going on?

Oh yeah. Props to the MTU fans for pretty much matching the intensity of the home crowd with what? Maybe 10 people? God these UAA games are getting depressing...

Typical second half seawolf team of the last 3 seasons. These two games had to be must wins as the team has a tough stretch down the wire. Again who do you point fingers at the players or the guy making up the game plan, developing the system and making the decisions.

The special teams continues to be something to forget. Another 0fer on the pp and gave up 2 pp goals to tech and they score a shortie.

Why did the coach not call a time out with two minutes left in the game.
Than he changes the lines and puts out rookie defenseman.
Confusing

The music guy absolutely SUCKS and needs to go. I don't care how much he loves the seawolves, if he really cares he'll hang it up. One face off it's f-ing Harlem Globetrotters music. The next face off it's Football Defense music. Wow a face off in the UAA zone, so we want to play, clap-clap DEFENSE!, we don't want to get puck possesion and play offense, we want clap-clap DEFENSE! clap-clap DEFENSE! clap clap DEFENSE! Who else likes clap-clap DEFENSE!!!! F!!!!

Time to take a deep breath. A point is a point. Yeah, the powerplay at the end of the game didn't need a goal, so why put a rookie offensive-minded d out there? Time to instill some fun. Start the third-string goalie. Mix up the lines. Give the boys and fans something new to look at. Change is as good as a rest and all that. Free everyone.

Give Selby a chance! Don't you remember that when you finally gave him a chance last year, he was responsible for tying the Minnesota game?

Anonymous said...

A win tonight and they are 2-1-1 after the break...
Selby's only downfall is he is weak on the puck, but give the kid a chance eh, Dave?

Absolutely disgusted after watching that game from here in Louisiana. We dwindle down to a 1 goal lead, we are in the PP in the 3rd period with like 38 seconds left and it looks like we pull a win. Then MTU scores short handed. What a bummer. C'mon Seawolves, get these two points tonight. MAKE IT HAPPEN!

GO SEAWOLVES!

Anon@1:27 AM - Bryce played very well. Don't pin this on him.

I'm obviously thrilled with a tie, but I can definitely understand UAA fans' frustration. Oh man, can I ever...

Jimmyjam, the whistle hadn't blown yet when Bryce apparently had the puck. If the situation had been reversed, you know damn well that your boys would've been whacking at Robby too until the whistle or they knocked the puck out of his glove.

This is the second GTG in two years that I've seen shorthanded with less than thirty seconds left. What an amazing feeling it is!

Seawolves win tonight.

mIKE @ 10:00 AM.

We lost 2 to Wisconsin. We would be 2-2-1 with a win tonight. The University is a joke for not advertising and pumping up their flagship sport.

Just a thought, but when will Alaska have a hockey day? They do it in Minnesota and Michigan. Maybe have 4 games at Sullivan Arena on a Saturday.
10:00 AM South vs. Dimond
12:30 PM Avalanche vs. Fairbanks
3:30 PM Seawolves vs. Nanooks
8:00 PM Aces vs. Idaho

What a night to have our Captain have perhaps the worst playing night of his four years. Hopefully they won't be taking pucks away from him tonight and his passes will be sharp. Congrats to our third line - who played a great game.

I hope the coaches and university realize how fragile this fan base is right now. At least the ones who are still being faithful.

Time to do some real soul searching guys, play with heart tonight and you'll get the win.

Great post, D. The headline puts it all in 4 words. For someone who is not notably laconic, that’s up there with McAuliffe’s “Nuts” reply to the demand for surrender of the 101st Airborne around Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge.

Your tires should be at proper preasure, now.

Hopefully the boys will come out holding their heads high with a will to win. It's a new day and new game....we all know they can pull this off tonight.

I agree with UAA's promotion of hockey. It sucks. The stupid ads on Channel 1 make me want to run as fast as I can away from UAA sports. They have to start by attracting a new fan base with something like kids get in free or 1/2 price admission and come up with a REAL marketing strategy, not pathetic ads. It's horrible how poorly marketed this team is. Shame on UAA and shame on the UAA students for their lack of support. And it's not only hockey....Seawolves women's bb is ranked 2nd in the nation and only get 400+ fans attending games. How bad is that?? Sad, sad, sad.......

Go get them tonight guys!!!!!! There are many of us who are behind you 100%.

Wisconsin Seawolves Fan:

Wolfman, your watching these games live from Louisiana, we are only listening to the Live Audio feed.

Do we need a full moon in Wisonsin or a special dish, would appreciate any info on how we might also enjoy the live video of these games, Thanks

Here is the link to the GCI webcast:

Akhockeyfanatic, the U is already letting kids under 12 in for free every Friday night, with a paying adult wearing green & gold. I'm not surprised you don't know about it, because it's not advertised anywhere.

Doyle Woody did a good job of getting the word out at the end of his articles, but I haven't see it lately.

ken selby is probably the best player in the wcha to only play in 12 games. He needs to be playing more. August Aiken comes fresh off a semester of not playing competitively and plays in 4 of his first 5 eligible games. Just curious how Selby could be that bad....

In Aikens defense, he is looking really good so far, he will be a spark plug for the team.
