Rob Gunderson and Tommy Grant were respectively named WCHA Rookie Of The Week and Offensive Player Of The Week today. Congratulations to both.
Grant scored 5 points on the weekend with 2 goals and 1 assist on Friday night as UAA beat CC 4-1 and then on Saturday assisted on both of UAA goals in the 2-1 victory. Tommy aslo got seven shots on goal and was a +2 on the weekend. Gunderson saved 38 out of 40 shots and only allowed 1 even strength tally while shutting out 10 CC power plays. In Gunderson's last 8 games his save percentage is .923.
This is Tommy Grant's third POTW honor with the two others occurring both in the 2008-2009 season. Rob was also nominated in the Defensive Player of the Week category.

Dangnabbit haha, jus got this from the UAA facebook feed. Your quick, too quick!!
Jus to point this out, Gundy's GAA is 2.39!! And of the 4 goals Alex Gellert has scored, 3 of them have been game winners in his career here at UAA!!!
Congrats Tommy and Rob!!
I hope that means after this weekend that Alex will have 6 goals with 5 winners!
Awesome. Gundy should have been the DPOTW too though, but still great.
There have many great individual performances from the Seawolves of late. Last weekend these two Individuals were exceptional and thus the league-wide recognition. An individual awards/recognition is always a nice thing to receive. However, both of these players know that their team is a HUGE part of their individual successes and, I have heard, both Tommy and Rob have been giving thanks to their teammates for helping them not only last weekend but all year long. Good on you Boys!! Keep it up!! All awards are team-related really.
Bring on Denver
