I didn't get to watch the game. So there's pretty much nothing I can say about it. Kurt always does a great job calling the games on the radio but what can I add if I didn't see the game. Thanks a lot B2. If your website was on fire I wouldn't piss on it.
The game is apparently on GCI Channel 1 @ 6am tomorrow (Saturday) morning. I'll watch it. The Saturday game (which I won't even attempt to buy on B2 --- because they SUCK) is apparently replayed on the same channel at 10am Sunday. I'll watch it too.
At least then I can offer some analysis of how the guys played. Sounded like a real close game tonight. Gunderson came up big on Kurt's calls but it sounded like Reiter did as well for UMD.
I will come back to this post within the next hour or so and provide whatever links I can to coverage from people that actually got to see the game because they weren't held hostage to a shitty service like B2.
This won't be the last time I bash B2. I will never again even attempt to use their shitty service and unfortunately for you (my dear readers), you're going to have to swim through me bashing them from time to time. Sorry in advance, but someone on the Web has to decry their stupidity.
Oh yeah ... we lost in OT 3-2. Piss on that too.
Here's a link to the boxscore. Only two penalties on the night is a positive. And congrats to Wes McLeod on his first collegiate goal. With the assists to Kwas and Pustin for an all freshmen scoreline on that goal.
Here's the UAA Story ... I'm just copying it in full and reposting. Thanks to Dallas Baldwin!

DULUTH, Minn. – The Alaska Anchorage Seawolves were handed their third straight loss in their Western Collegiate Hockey Association opener with a 3-2 overtime defeat by No. 5/6 Minnesota Duluth on Friday night at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center.
For the first time of the season the Seawolves (1-3-1, 0-1-0 WCHA) were the first to strike, but it would be a back-and-forth battled for the rest of regulation play before the Bulldogs (4-0-1, 1-0-0 WCHA) tallied the game-winning goal with just 31 seconds expired on the clock in overtime.
Getting UAA on the board early was senior forward Tommy Grant at 3:26 of the first. Senior forward Sean Wiles got control of the puck and passed it up ice to Grant for a breakaway. Grant, from North Vancouver, B.C., was able to convert on UMD’s netminder, Kenny Reiter, giving the Seawolves a 1-0 lead.
The Bulldogs would respond with the first of two goals by junior Mike Connolly, just 59 seconds into the second frame to tie the game.
Freshman defenseman Wes McLeod returned the lead back to the Seawolves at 7:08 with his first collegiate goal. Classmates Jordan Kwas and Mark Pustin each picked up helpers.
UMD registered the final tally in regulation by Connolly at 13:49 of the second. Both teams received huge saves from their goaltenders in the third, keeping the game tied at 2-2.
The Seawolves had an opportunity to win it in the final minutes of the third when UMD’s J.T. Brown was tagged for charging the goalie and sent to the box for a two-minute minor with 2:14 left on the clock. UAA was unable to capitalize on the man advantage though, sending the game into extra minutes.
Brown netted the game-winner at 4:29 of overtime.
Making his third collegiate start between the pipes for the Seawolves was rookie goaltender Rob Gunderson (1-2-0). The Lethbridge, Alberta, native made 21 saves in the loss, while Reiter (3-0-1) received the win with 23 stops.
UAA recorded a season-low-tying three penalties for six minutes, while UMD was 4-for-8. The Seawolves and Bulldogs were tied in shots at 24-24 going into OT, before UMD added one more with the goal.
Both Grant and Kwas improved their point streak to five games. Grant’s goal tonight gives him a career-high five-game point streak. Tonight’s defeat is UAA’s first in five games at the DECC and third straight game with a one-goal loss.

Not sure if the game will really be shown on Saturday and Sunday. The listing was showing earlier today in my DVR guide that it would be but when I just went in to set it to record, the heading was no longer showing. It was instead showing that it would be GCI classifieds. Hope when I watch the recording that it is the hockey game-don't know if I could handle a Joe Miller ad that early.
DD, Tough loss tonight,We gave them all they could handel. We will play with them again, even better. Can you give any ideas to B2 to make their show any better?
Did the Nooks win? :) LOL
UA_ WINS! :) ;)") >;)>"). GO WOLVES !!!!
The best way to make B2 better is to tell them to stop trying to make it.
Was it on or not?
