I'll put up the "low-rent" version of chat before I head out to the rink later today (below). So all you out-of-towners have that to look forward to! There is no preview in the Anchorage Daily News today. I provided a link above just for smartassery purposes. As I mentioned earlier this week, it's been 48 days since we local fans have watched the team live. As the day goes on, I know my anticipation will grow. Don't forget it's Parent's Weekend. Their Parent's will be introduced at some point. Remember to stay in your seats between periods for their introduction and show your appreciation. Go Seawolves!

To give the ADN, and Doyle Woody props they did preview this weekend's games:
In the announcement of Kevin Clark's Offense Player of the Week award yesterday I think.......
I didn't and don't see any sort of preview for this series on ADN.
Wow you're the only one that really covers UAA hockey.

Oh .. that was the preview? I counted that as a mixed Aces/Seawolves blurb versus an actual series preview. I guess what threw me was there was no byline.
yeah I know...the hated nanooks...nonetheless check it out

the video is worth a look
Does anyone know when the parents will be introduced at Saturday's game? I've read two different times. Can anyone confirm?
See you all tonight for some great hockey and a fantastic win!!
Go Seawolves
Blowing up the Earth because someone woke you up is real cool and all. I can see exactly how this video appeals to the lovely folks that inhabit the Golden Fart City ... i.e... big explosions makes troglodytes cheer.
But let me ask you this ... what other college hockey blogger brings you a live stream of "The Office"? Eh? NONE is the correct answer.
Boom Roasted!
Yeah, the ADN gets a big 'bag of dicks' for their lame non-preview of tonight's game.
Come on, it's been like a million years since the Wolves have played in their own barn and this series can't get a proper mention? (not to mention the fact that they play a nationally ranked team).
Not to rag on Woody per-se, (he's a pretty good sports columnist), but ADN needs to get their priorities straight.
The USCHO Fan Forum on this series is pretty interesting.

Glad to get a few positive posts from the DU fans
See the great job the ADN do on covering 1 of only 2 NCAA Division I sport programs in this city:
Thursday mini-mini-mini preview:
http://www.adn.com/3530/story/1102877.html
And, the much better mini-mini preview in the Friday paper:

And, this comes before the first home seris for the Seawolves in this decade, it's Parent's Weekend, and we just came off of a sweep. Even though the sweep was of last place MT, it still was a sweep. And, the better preview was filed in the prep hockey section online! Where was is it in the paper version? The classifieds?
Free Doyle Woody!
Of his "job", "job" not Career.(Anybody watch Chris Rock?)
Seriously my little brother could do a better job covering the Seawolves, mind you he's 9.
Doyle may be slacking off when it comes to Seawolves coverage, but one of the KTUU sports anchors (I can't remember if it was Carp, Charlie, or Kevin) also failed to mention the Seawolves a few days ago when he rambled off his spiel over local sports happenings he'd be covering on the 6pm broadcast.
One of the news anchors looked over at him and said "What about the Seawolves sweeping down in Michigan?"
The sports guy said "Oh. yeah. We'll discuss that as well".
Good grief.
Oh, p.s..
I didn't read through all the comments on the topics here so may already have been discussed--
But what a BUMMER that Chancellor Fran Ulmer announced today that she'll be retiring. :o(
Her husband just retired and she has her first grandbaby, so those two things were the major deciding factors.
Still- I really liked her and will be sad to see her go.
p.s.s.
Didn't this blog used to have an 'edit' button for when we made typos?
I could've sworn it did.. but maybe I was hallucinating?
:p
Parents introductions will be at the end of the first period.
