I submit for your edutainment the absolute finest YouTube Mankato-related video to ever befall the college hockey interwebs.  Watch the video below ... watch it damnit.
@ :17 seconds we get to hear the delight at the discovery of a "wash menu" ...
@1:03 they actually ask if they stay in the car ...
@1:12 is secondary astonishment at the "wash menu" concept ...
@2:01 gramps again talks about staying in the car ...
@2:30 they discover it's going to pull them along ..
@2:42 an understandable claim to being the best video on YouTube ever ...
@2:50 til 3:45 undeniable sounds of murder come from the back seat ...
@3:55 gramps squeals once again in delight ...
@4:50 "are these florescent lights?
@5:20 "Ma" gets a "blowjob" ... cameraman fears "jet engines" ...
@5:40 "NOOO ... you don't tip 'em honey ...

How exactly isn't that the greatest YouTube video ever?  1812 views doesn't tell the story.  Doesn't matter if it's popular, popularity doesn't imply excellence necessarily.  How could you not be smiling while watching that?  You got to experience their anticipation and excitement at going through the auto-wash.  We got to share in their delight with the term "wash menu".  The scenes of the of the actual washing process on the car had me gripping my armrests tightly.  Now I know what critics mean when they say "gripping stuff"! Wow.  It was scary, delightful and intense ....  Thanks to Grampa, Ma, hidey-chick in the back and the anonymous cameraman for sharing this with the world.

I'll leave the chatroom below up for the duration ...

Olthuis & Sidor listed, did Bryce get left at home again? What is going on Shyiak!!

ok people who cares where bryce is? Olthuis has proven to be a capable Goalie. You all know that its not always the goalies fault when a goal is let in.

Totally disappointed in Shyiak. Especially this year.

I agree it's not always a goalies fault, but it has been a fact this season that Jonnie O cannot stop a breakaway.

I still say if you are going to have enough confidence in Sidor to make him your back up, give him some ice time. Really starting to wonder about many of Shyiaks decisions.

Tomorrow, sit Baldwin and put in Hunt. Give Selby a shot.

UAA has given up how many shorties this year (14?), all one on one with the goalies? Start doing some drills coach.

It is evident that the pp is in DIRE NEED OF CHANGE. You have players that deserve better and WILL DO BETTER, yet see less ice time than they should. Shyiak has messed with enough players and screwed their confidence. Give it back to them. Again, 2 short handed goals and no consequences. Come on Shyiak. Sit some and play others extra. Put 9 with 11 and 21.Then19, 20 and 16. Play 13 and 4 together on No. 1 line and on the pp with 24 and 22 together on 2nd line as pairings. Rotate 23 through. That's it. Oh, and Sidor as back-up.

Hated the game and don't want to talk about it.

Enjoyed the Mankato video of the car wash. Was especially weird though to go see what other videos this person has posted to Youtube. Um, different is all I have to say. Split personality maybe?

How come we can't go back and look at the chatroom comments from earlier in the game?
Man, would like to do that.

Since at this time it appears that Bryce may be staying or going, lets look at a few others who left the program before their senior year for whatever reason.

Juniors who left:
Paul Crowder,F, left after 3rd season, 14-19-33
Brian Bales,F, left after 1st season(had only one more year), 1-15-16
Nate Lawson,G, 10-15-2, win % .407, GAA 3.03, SV % .893

Sophomores who left:
Curtis Glencross,F, left after 2nd season, 21-13-34
Chris Fournier,F, left after 2nd season, 14-18-32
Jay Beagle,F, 10-10-20
Eric Walsky,F, 3-12-15
Brandon Segal,D, 2-9-11

Freshman who left:
Tyler Moir,F, 1-8-9
Brad McCabe,F, 7-3-10
Winston DayChief,F, 4-6-10

Again, these are some of the few that I could remember that had either great potential on the ice, or was great on the ice period. They left for whatever reason, and when it comes down to it, it only hurts the program. I am by no way making this as an excuse, just an observation.

All the stats are those of their last year they played for UAA, not career stats.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but since blowing a 3-1 lead in the third against St. Cloud, we've been outscored 14-3. Whoever runs this powerplay ought to be relieved of his duties. Listening to Curt's audio last night he mentioned that we have no one in front of the net on the powerplay. This is elementary. Put someone who has some strength in front of the net. Admit that the freshmen have been a bust on the powerplay. Some one mentioned Shyiak is stubborn. Appears so.

Selby cannot be put in the game since he was left home in Anchorage.

Coaching sucks. Bottom line. Also, Olthius couldn't stop a beachball on a breakaway. He is a horrendous goaltender.

Next year: new coach, new goalie, new attitude.

Amen! I have never seen a team that can give away momentum so quickly. Bench Jonnie O. Either give Bryce a chance or start Sidor.

Anonymous said...

Too many soft goals. We need solid goaltending to compete in this league. They played a freshman tonight.

The game should have at least ended with a tie. Kudos to the Seawolves. The effort was there. Shyiak made a few positive changes tonite. Finally. A couple of soft goals changed the game. Too bad for Jonny because he has played so well lately.

Allowing 2 goals on 6 shots? Olthuis was really off. Should have let Sidor have a chance. Or put Bryce back on the team.

Anonymous said...

I think that Bryce let the team down. The team should have been able to put him in when Jonny was struggling.

Anonymous said...

Agree. Getting caught after curfew on your first roadie back with the team is pretty stupid.
Seawolves don't need stupid between the pipes. Play Sidor.

Ninth place here we come. Personal Vendettas come before winning.
