14 UAA Seawolf Hockey players were named to the WCHA All-Academic team today. This is the highest number of UAA hockey players ever listed and it contributed to a record 107 players league-wide named to the team. The UAA players named are:
Mat Robinson - 3rd award
Kevin Clark - 2nd award
Paul Crowder - 2nd award
Trevor Hunt - 2nd award
Josh Lunden - 2nd award
Jon Olthuis - 2nd award
Jeremy Smith - 1st award
Nils Backstrom - 1st award
Brian Bales - 1st award
Jared Tuton - 1st award
Kane Lafranchise - 1st award
Craig Parkinson - 1st award
Luka Vidmar - 1st award
Sean Wiles - 1st award
To earn recognition as a member of the All-WCHA Academic Team, member team student-athletes must meet the following criteria: 1) have completed one year of residency at present institution, prior to the current academic year; and 2) have a grade point average of at least 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) for the previous two semesters or three quarters, or may qualify if his overall GPA is at least 3.00 for all terms at his present institution.

Congratulations to all these players for doing good work in the classroom while still performing at a high level on the ice. There's a reason student comes first in student/athlete.

We have the most talented team in the wcha and the smartest.
Clarkie, lunden and crowder fill the net. Denver will not be happy after the weekend.

Can monitor the Spanking in Denver Live on GCI channel 1 all three games if the Seawolves let them last that long……… make “Ruckus” cry…………

It's good to hear that gci received the rights to air the games this weekend. I'd much rather wath the game on the big screen instead of my computer

This is really exciting and a HUGE turnaround for UAA academically. It is amazing for the whole WCHA. Except Wisconsin, evidently.

Congratulations! Another reason to be so proud of this team....can that be possible? The team keeps amazing me.
But honestly, playing a D1 sport in college is a huge commitment by itself and to have 14 UAA players to earn All Academic honors is simply astounding. This is a reflection on what this team is made of! Good going, Seawolves. You're the best!!

This chat room forum is a joke, the fans would like to read comments about the game and the series.
Clarkie is still on fire, bryce in net tonite, and take denver 4 goals to 2. To bad they never played clarkie all year with crowder and grant.
Not sure how und missed clarkie living winnipeg, just north of gand forks.
All the best tonite guys, win one tonite and anything is possible, two years ago in minni we won game two.
